We take measurements of the tree height, evaluate locations of power and telephone lines, adjacent properties, access points and establish a safe area to set the appropriate size crane to do the job. The crane size is determined by how large the cut sections of the tree trunks we are removing.

TreeMax is one of our local arborists that we partner with frequently and removed the trees from a Sacramento residence in this project. TreeMax limbed the trees prior to our arrival, creating the bare trunks to remove. This project required a skilled team on both sides. You can see how challenging it was for the arborist to work from the top down. We removed four trees, with the tallest at 110”. Part of the challenge was the homeowner wanted to retain the big wood from the trees to have milled to bring back to the property and build a custom redwood deck. 

We brought in a 110 Ton Grove Crane – the long main boom. This crane has 142’ of main boom.

The trees were cut in 20’ lengths for milling. These sections were then placed on a trailer, width a tight 9’ width from the side of the home to the property fence.

This unique project required a coordinated approach to ensure all data between multiple contractors was compiled to streamline the process. We use 3D lift planning software. This software is industry standard to show load locations, crane set up and visual clearances. Because mistakes cost time and money for all parties, our team plans each project with great detail.

On this project we used a 26 Ton all the way up to a 350 Ton cranes from our fleet. The structure is 108 feet tall. The largest pick on this project was a 98,000-pound radiation heater that had to be hoisted into the structure from the top.

The project took a year from start to completion. It is working together over an extended period of time on projects like this that build long term successful relationships with our clients.
